This spamming across a multitude of newsgroups dealing with competitors' products says a few things I find interesting. (The use of 'You' in the below paragraphs is intended at Oracle, *not* Mr Swonger personally.) 1. You're desperate. I note the Informix press releases are confined to comp.databases.informix, which means Informix is trying to be informative. I note Oracle's press releases are spammed across the internet, which means Oracle is desperate to obtain new business. 2. You're inconsiderate. No one in this (or other product-specific) newsgroup is going to give much of a tinker's damn about new Oracle releases. The purpose of this newsgroup is to discuss product-specific issues, and Oracle ain't it. 3. You could outstubborn a cat. No other competitors to Informix are wasting their breath in this newsgroup, and I know from experience that none of you guys are going to get the message. So why am I bothering? Because I don't want to give up hope that you'll eventually wake up and smell the coffee. *Sigh.* Thanks for giving me one more name to add to an already overflowing kill file. It's been a hoot.
