Re: What's issue that we have to concern if we want to implement HDR
Posted in 1999
I recently implemented HDR with Informix DS 7.30 UC5/7 on HP-UX 10.20. I
encountered 3 problems:
1)
I couldn't use tape drive on remote hosts to do cold restore with
onarchive (fo first installation of HDR);
2)
HDR impose additional locks for building indexes on primary server. To
avoid errors like -244 you need use
SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT n for all sessions that modify data.
3)
Informix Admin Guide says that if you use asynchronous mode of HDR anddatabase with unbuffered log, all data modifications will be sent to
secondary server after executing of COMMIT statement. But I saw delay equals
to DRINTERVAL value (like for database with buffered log) in my case.
