RE: Local Informix User Group Meeting - Sept 10 - Chicago

Well when you blast an invite to all of the world... Can I help it if I feel it important to warn the world of the dangers of Schaumburg? I mean, c'mon its almost as bad as Berwyn. Its the 'burbs people! One can die of boredom, or want to commit suicide from being stuck in one of their endless traffic jams. At least in the city, if you don't live in the city, you can hop on a Metra train, or take CTA. And there are half a dozen bars near the IBM building... I know. That's where most of the IBM sales critters hang out during working hours. :-P Subject: RE: Local Informix User Group Meeting - Sept 10 - Chicago Date: Wed, 2 Sep 2009 12:19:13 -0500 From: nsebastian@flinnsci.com To: informix-list@iiug.org oh omniscient and omnipotent one, would you like some cheese w/ your whine? I guess the nice conference rooms in Oakbrook/Oakbrook Terrace were unavailable? Just FYI, if you do plan to attend, unless IBM has changed anything, your cell phones will not work. (The tint on the windows also was designed to hamper em/rf signals...) Also if you're coming from outside the region, plan on traffic delays. (Checkout www.traffic.com and select midwest then Chicago.) [A shameless plug for Navteq ...] :-P Its a shame that Jonathan has to stay out in the burbs. The Drake is a Hilton property and is probably the nicest hotel that you can get at IBM rates. Also... Schaumburg.... eeewwww. But hey! What do I know? My GPS ankle bracelet goes off anytime I leave the city limits. -G > Subject: RE: Local Informix User Group Meeting - Sept 10 - Chicago > Date: Wed, 2 Sep 2009 11:37:07 -0500 > From: nsebastian@flinnsci.com > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Hi all, > It was kindly pointed out to me that part of my subject line may have > gotten chopped off.. > > This is the Chicago, Illinois local Informix user group. > We're meeting in Schaumburg, IL (northwest suburb). > > Thanks, > NJ > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org > [mailto:informix-list-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Norma Jean > Sebastian > Sent: Wednesday, September 02, 2009 10:20 AM > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: Local Informix User Group Meeting - Sept 10 - Chicago > > Hello, > > In case you have not received this announcement by other means: > ----------------------------- > > Hello Informix Users! > Well, we finally have an agenda for the fall meeting!! > > I hope you have saved the date, eg.
