Do I need to buy I-Net for the SE Server? As you use the OpenLink driver there is no need to by I-Net or any other software. You do have to use the server based (multi tier) version of the OpenLink driver though. You have to get the server component for SE 5.x (Informix5) and install that on your server. You should run it as root. Last time I used it (quite some time ago now) there was a small bug in it in that it tried to execute an OpenLink program that was installed but wasn't in the path of root. That obviously failed. I simply modified the script to use the full path of that command (I don't remember which it was but you should find it easily enough). I hope they have fixed this so it's no problem any more. Other than this the installation is very simple. Installing the client component on your MS Windows PC is simple enough.
