onbar/ontape questions

After reading some of the postings on on ontape vs. onbar, I have
some questions on my situation.
We have a small database (under 5 gb) and currently use ontape to
for archives and logging.
We plan to move the DB servers to a co-location facility, and it seems
that sending archives/logging to disk will work best in that
environment.
Is onbar the best (or only) choice for a situation like this?
It seems that ontape has a 2 gb limit to the size of disk archive it
can handle. I've tried fiddling around with TAPESIZE, and creating
multiple archive files, but wasn't able to restore successfully.
Has anyone had luck using ontape for archives > 2 gb?
