How to deny CLI access

My server-based application uses Unix logins to connect to an Informix database. Some of my (smarter) users have discovered the possibility to access this database through ODBC/CLI. How can I prevent them from doing this without removing the user accounts ? thanks for your help Kalle.

Have the app encrypt the password before it passes it to unix. Then unix will re-encrypt it. The downside is that you will have to change the client and you will have to add a password change function to the client if you don't already have one. The upside is that the users really have no idea what their password is on unix. > -- # unrm / ksh: unrm: not found # man cpio Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Try to use DCOM in your client application so you don't need to give users a unix login.
