Cant see any reason why it should differ. -----Original Message----- From: cedricmarvin6867@my-deja.com [mailto:cedricmarvin6867@my-deja.com] Sent: Tuesday, October 10, 2000 5:46 PM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Best way to set up Sun A1000 for raw Informix space? Hello, I am going to be installing a Sun A1000 (initially with just four 36 gig disks) and I have a question for anybody familiar with the performance issues: We will be setting this up with Sun's Raid Manager into 2 gigabyte chunks for direct use by Informix, bypassing the Unix file system - Initially this will be RAID 0. My question is: Is there any performance difference in making a lot of 2 gigabye LUNs versus making some 14 (or so) gigabyte LUNs and then using the format utility to partition them into 2 gigabyte partitions ? Thanks for any help and advice. - Cedric - Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
