Hi,
I'm a last year computer sciences student at Antwerp University and I'm
doing my thesis on the subject 'Digitizing the history of the stock
exchange in Belgium'. This thesis is a small part of a huge 6-year project
concerning several faculties.
Main goal is to set up a database which contains 'all' the information
available of the Stock Exchange of Brussels since 1830 and publish it on
the Web. Needless to say that Timeseries will be widely used throughout
this project.
My part in this project is to search for as much information as possible on
the next topics:
1) Oracle8's TimeSeries cartridge and Informix's TimeSeries DataBlade: How
do they work? Which one is better and why? Does anyone have positive and
negative experiences with one of them?
2) Are there good URL's where I can find more information on timeseries?
(I've already intensivly browsed through Oracle's, Informix's, Sybase's and
IBM's homepages)
3) Does anyone know some similar Stock Exchange projects throughout the
world? URL's? e-mail addresses?
tia,
Arvid
