Re: KAIO Error

There is a fixed non-tunable array size of simultaneous KAIO requests structures which is overflowing. This is currently set at 512 requests. This error indicates that you are running out of request structures and so it is having to delay the I/O request. It is a performance error, but it should not cause any application errors or failures. I have openned a Bug 101043 which is platform specific to AIX. It currently is at a low priority until customers call in an request it to be fixed. Hope this helps, ---jmiller John Miller Just a quick not "IFMX_HPKAIO_NUM_REQ" is specific to HP that is why we put "HP" in the middle of it. It will not work on any other platorm. > Paul Bishop wrote: > > > > AIX 4.2.1 > > Informix Online > > > > We are regularly getting KAIO errors in the online.log file. > > > > *** _aiowrite() returning EAGAIN *** > > KAIO: out of OS resources, errno = 11 ,pid = 44086 > > > > Have tuned the MINSERVERS=130, MAXSERVERS=260 and left Max number of > > REQUESTS at 4096. > > > > Any ideas as to what maybe causing the errors? > > > > Have you considered the IFMX_HPKAIO_NUM_REQ variable?
