Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi all -
Having a problem I believe is due to the database' current
condition(mush).I have multiple users with direct access to the DB
inputting records.
As of this morning, Any attempt to add new records results in the
following error :
SQL statement error number -239.
Could not insert new row - duplicate value in a UNIQUE INDEX column.
SYSTEM error number -100.
ISAM error: duplicate value for a record with unique key.
Yet a search for the "duplicate" value turns up mothing. Can anyone
confirm for me that this is an integrity problem, and if so what
commands/utilities can I use to correct the situation?
tia

Hi Todd.
The reason you do not see duplicates is because the INSERT failed on
duplicates.
Check the unique indexes for that table. Also the application might not
set all the fields involved in the unique indexes, so these get the
default value (it works the first time though).
HTH.
