This changed in 7.10.UD1. It means you (or Informix) can run onlog
to examine in the logical logs. Once they had been freed you could
not examine them. Hence I would make it harder for Informix to
work out what been happening...
This (and a lot more useful information) is in the release notes..
check the files under $INFORMIXDIR/release. There will be a ONLINE_7.2
somewhere under there

Seems like either
a) The 6.04 is not correctly installed. Remember Tools then Engine.
b) An enviroment variable is set pointing towards an old version of
4GL and that is where you are picking up the .h files from,
check no environment variables are set that contain the word
INCLUDE (CCINCLUDE, INCLUDECC, something like that).
c) You are doing c4gl -I<path> where path point to an old version
of Informix .h files.
d) a bug in 4GL
