Database/Systems Programmer Spark Online is building a database driven Internet business to deliver marketing solutions for branded products and retailers. The Database/Systems Programmer will work alongside Java/C++/C/HTML programmers to develop and implement our database strategy. Database/Systems Programmers will have extensive experience within an Internet or enterprise-wide client/server environment across multiple databases, as well as strong programming, administration and integration skills. Candidates will posses a minimum of a BSCE or equivalent and several years demonstrable experience as a Database/Systems Programmer in an Internet, Intranet or high volume commercial environment. The ideal candidate will have experience developing web or enterprise-wide client/server solutions based on RDBMS: Illustra (Web Datablade), Informix Universal Server, Oracle 7/8 and/or Sybase. The successful candidates will have developed innovative database solutions using the latest technologies; C++/Java/HTML, WEB, CGI, Perl on UNIX, Solaris and Windows NT . 2. Database Administrator (DBA) Spark Online's Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and development duties centered around the Company's Illustra/Informix Universal Server databases. The duties will include backup and recovery, load balancing, general maintenance, performance monitoring, and tuning. In addition, the DBA will participate in schema design and implementation for databases used by the Company's web sites, which are heavily dependent on databases for organizing and storing content, formatting information, and logging and tracking data. The ideal candidate will have a BSCE/MSCS or equivalent and expertise administering RDBMS based web solutions; ideally Illustra/IUS, Oracle 7/8 or Sybase running on Sun Solaris servers.
