Hello everybody,
my ONLINE_7.2 tells me to adjust some kernelparameters as you see here:

but when I do this especially the SHMMAX then I can't bring the
Databaseengine up, because it reports a sharedmemory error an enters the
following to the online.log:

Can anybody tell me which parameter I have to adjust in my Digital-UX?
Greetings from Salzburg
Wilfried Kreuzbauer.
Hi,
the ONCONFIG variable SHMBASE should be set to the following
SHMBASE 0x200000000
additionally try this parameter:
/etc/sysconfigtab:
section "ipc:"
"ssm-threshold=0"
section "vm:"
"new-wired-method=0"

It is complaining about the size of shared memory -vs- MAXMEM, the
release notes say you do not have to set any particular value for
MAXMEM, but what is it set to and what is the size, approx, of your
resident shared memory segment? Note that on many systems you cannot
create a single shared memory segment larger than physical RAM, could
this be your problem?
