continuous logging

Hi, I'm using Informix online 5 under AIX 3.25. 1. I have read the informix guide about continuous archive for logical logs and automatic one. I can't see the difference, cause for automatic once a log is filled it will put it to the tape, so as the continuous!! Did I miss anything? 2. The Informix guide and Informix support told me that continuous logging cannot be done unless you dedicate a terminal for it. However, I tried the following and it worked. nohup tbtape -c & 3. If someone is taking level 0 archive on daily basis, why archiving the logical logs is need? (Other than releasing the log files). I mean do I have to keep the logical log archives, if I have the next day level-0 archive or even level-1, 2...??
