INFORMIX SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH SAP AG Leading International Software Developer to Integrate INFORMIX-OnLine With R/3 Product MENLO PARK, Calif. (April 6, 1993) Informix Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:IFMX) today announced that it has signed an agreement with SAP AG, one of the world's largest independent software vendors, to integrate the INFORMIX-OnLine database server with SAP's client/server-based R/3 system of applications software for financial, manufacturing and human resource management. INFORMIX-OnLine is a high-performance, mainframe-caliber database server with online transaction processing (OLTP) and multimedia capabilities. Under the agreement, SAP will become an Informix value-added reseller and will market and support the Informix-based R/3 system through SAP America, its USA-based subsidiary and its worldwide marketing partners. Worldwide availability of the Informix-based R/3 system will begin in July 1993. The partnership will provide both companies with a stronger position in the fast-growing market for UNIX-based systems throughout the world. Informix currently holds a 37 percent market share from UNIX-licensed installations worldwide.
