Originally, onstat wasn't designed for customer use, which is why
you find weak documentation on it. Tech support can usually give
you information on specific columns...I'm sure if you post specific
questions here, you can get answers as well.
There's a book in the works that covers onstat exclusively, but god
knows when it'll actually come out. It was a third-done when I
joined Informix a year ago and I haven't heard anything about it
since...
Not sure about oncheck...I don't remember it being very cryptic,
though...
As far as q-limits..."maximum number of buffers that can be on
the queue"...
