Is there an undocumented get_key or similar ?

Hi, I'm sure somebody out there must have encountered this one before... Does anybody know of an Informix library function which returns the value of a key pressed by the user ? I am writing an application using Informix RDS v4.00 and I4GL v4.00 Basically, I have a screen form with 140 input fields arranged in a grid on the screen. I currently use INPUT ARRAY ... to allow the user to enter values into the grid. However, movement around the grid is very limited as Informix only allows the cursor to move to either the next or previous array row (the grid is setup in Informix as an array of 140 rows with 1 field on each row). Ideally, I would like to allow the user to use the arrow keys to move in any direction around the grid. Although this is probably not possible with the INPUT ARRAY statement, I could write code which displays the relevant grid square in highlight depending upon a key press from an invisible input field elsewhere on the screen - if only I knew of some way to check for the user having pressed an arrow key! There doesn't appear to be a way of doing this with the standard ON KEY clause so I wondered if Informix include an undocumented funtion which returns the value of the key which has been pressed ? Thank-you in advance for any helpful suggestions ...
