So what is evidently happening is that every time someone posts, an incrediible amount of disk bashing foes one, AND other programs that have things like arrays of row IDs, or scrolling cursors open seem to get very confused and either core dump (RDS environement) or put those 'very useful ' messages in errrolog (the Invalid Message Type ones). And thanks tall those that helped with suggestions. I've removed the Update statistics call on the test system, and wil try it in production over the weekend. So far all seems well. Maybe I should put the UPdate Stats call (if it is important) in a crontab file for the wee hours. _________________________________________________________________ Richard Foote -- footer@seer.mystic.com _________________________________________________________________
