The problem i have is that i don't have enough dbspace left, but the table has millions of rows, how can i add a new column to the table without running out of dbspace? If anybody has any ideas please let me know. : Thanks in advace : Shyam Consider doing an UNLOAD of the table, DROPping the table, ADD new table with the new column(s), finally doing a LOAD and INSERTing into specific columns. Why? In my experience, the ascii file created by UNLOAD takes a lot less space than the actual table, DROP will free up space. By the way, you might also consider doing the UNLOAD into a different file system. I do this a lot when I start having space problems.
