Recovery

I'm running Informix-Online 5.00.UC3 with Informix 4-4GL 4.10.UE2 on a HP 9000 s750 computer. A process with some 4000 locks had hung trying to update the database. I killed the process (which was a very bad move). Going into tbmonitor, I tried to set the DB online again. Results: Since about 8 this morning (6 hours) the tbmonitor has said: Recovering, please wait ... please wait ........ with the dots on the second line growing until about the 50th column, then disappearing and starting over. We didn't have *that* much data in the database, but the database's disk is fairly large (1.3GB). I can't seem to find anything to tell me how to put this recovery to sleep (we've got a power shutdown tomorrow), whether recovery time is proportional to raw disk space or amount of data, or how long a recovery is supposed to take.
