Connectivity Issue

Can anyone please provide help with the following. I am trying to access db tables in an IDS instance running on WinNT from MS Office 2000 applications. The IDS is ver 9.3 and the ODBC driver is Informix 3.33 from the ver 2.6 CLI SDK Using MS Access or Excel I can create a linked table without problems with the connection wizards but when I try to view the data, I get an error saying that the specified table is not in the database. With MS Query, I can edit the SQL code generated by the wizard. If I change the table reference syntax from User.Table to "User".Table, (with quotes), then the error goes away. I am unable to do the same thing with MS Access. If I try the same thing but by connecting to an On-line instance running on Solaris then there is no problem with the User.Table syntax. So I am concluding that this is probably not a Microsoft issue. Is this somekind of ANSI (or other) compliance issue? Is there something that I can set either in the ODBC data source connection or in the IDS instance configuration to resolve this? Thanks Alain Grumelart Ing. It looks like that the table was created with special characters in the
username (including upper case characters).
For example:
> create table "Raviaute".tabname(i int);
You can verify this by using the following query on the database. Check for
special characters:
> select owner from systables where tabname = "tabname";
Hope this helps.
