This is not Informix problem but JDK. I installed jdbc 2.1 without any problems. Earlier I installed jdbc 1.5 with JDK 1.8. Why you install jdbc 1.5 if you have JDK 1.3 ? Jdbc 1.5 was builded for JDK-1.x. May be problem in this? Try to install jdbc 2.1. Good luck. Sergey.
