It's probably slow because you enable informix mirror when you create
the space...
i guess it's fast when you do not mirror. do a quick test please ....
also when you add a chunk/dbspace with mirror,
run onstat -D |grep <for added devices> when the space is added.
i guess he nr of writes to the mirror device will be big....
if that is the case, talk to TS and ask them to file a feature request
or a bug.
adding a new dbspace mirrored initially should be fast....
