I assume that RedHat 6.0 will need >a kernel patch, too. Nope. IDS runs quite nicely on the FINAL Red Hat 6.0 -- Red Hat bundled a number of patches in with 6.0 including the ones needed for IDS. HOWEVER, other 2.2-based Linuxes could be more problematic. I've heard reports that SuSE's 6.1 does not bundle the changes AND does not offer a patch set on their site yet. The only 2.2-based commercial Linux which is known to work is Red Hat 6.0 at this moment... -- Alan Denney yosemite at accesscom.com Not a spokesman for Yosemite Botanical Munitions Inc. or Access Compost Supply.
