Server: Informix SE running on a 486 16mb under sco unix Client: 486 16mb windows for work groups / trumpet tcp/ip / SQL Retriever ODBC connection / Access 2.0 I attached a microsoft access table to an informix table and opened the table and read all the records. The table contains 2 integer columns and 112 records. Open table and display 1st 25 records - 1 second on LAN, 13 seconds on PPP Read all records on table - 3 seconds and 64 seconds subsequent reads of entire record set - 2.5 seconds and 40 seconds > and erratically > seemed pretty stable to me.
