Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Sanjay,
Off the top of my head, I can think of three possible approaches:
1. Have the esql/c function place its results in a temporary
table. It could then return a value to the 4GL program
indicating the table should be checked.
2. Have the esql/c function place its results in a global
static array. Accessing a global 4GL array from "C" is
tricky but can be done.
3. Write the esql/c function to behave like a cursor. By
using static "C" variables, the function can retain some
knowledge of its previous work. It could then return one
row each time its called.
Take your pick! Or, I'm sure there are still other ideas...
