Hi, I'm new to Informix. We are using IDS 10.0. In Microsoft SQL Server we use an "application role" to lock down the permissions on the connection for the particular role. In Informix, is there a way to lock down the permissions on the connection by using a role? The role needs to be given execute permissions only on Views and Stored Procedures, and explicitly deny access to all direct query types except for SELECT. Thanks, Ed
IDS 10 has a great online information center maintained by IBM: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v10/index.jsp Specifically for roles: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idshelp/v10/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.sq ls.doc/sqls803.htm HTH, Zev Berezin To: ids@iiug.org From: "ED KOSTENBAUDER" <ekostenb@cisco.com> Subject: Roles [6550] Date sent: Tue, 28 Mar 2006 13:42:02 -0500 (EST) Send reply to: ids@iiug.org <mailto:ids-request@iiug.org?subject=unsubscribe> <mailto:ids-request@iiug.org?subject=subscribe> > > Hi, > > I'm new to Informix.
