Re: How fast is fast recovery on V5

John just be glad it recovers at all I had a V5.2 port (Control Data EP/IX) that didn't recover at alle from the logical logs. It just came up with an illegal pointer (cannot find transaction ....) from the logical log I am on 7.12 now and are going to perform logical log recovery tests next week before bad luck hits our site. I just want to know up front waht the options are when we go down at say 11:00 am, and having an archive of 02:00 am and did batch runs from 03:00 - 07:00 am and having hardly traceble on-line transactions after 07:00 am. Are we then going to restore from archive and ingnoring online-tranactions but being up in one hour and do batch work later, or are we going to disappoint 150.000 inquiring users connecting from 300+ telephone lines for the rest of the day. If your operation is a critical one be advised to perform such tests as well even if you have to hire a another system configuration to do these test.
