If the output is ultimately redirected to >a file, we end up with control characters we don't need. Arrgghgh! If each group of 16 constitutes its own START REPORT statement execution, this could be due to bug 12520, which I've just been fixing. If you have an atomic test case you can send me, I could confirm. >When I called this problem into the Informix Tech Support I was told >that this is beyond what they intended the "report to pipe" syntax >to support, and that I was on my own. Not sure what they mean here. Reports to pipe/printer shouldn't impact the application screen, except to the degree that your pipe send output to standard error (which will be the screen). If your pipe *is* sending garbage to standard error, append "2> filename" to your report pipe to keep it from disrupting screen behaviors. (Report to pipe/printer uses popen() ). >Anybody have any ideas? > >Thanks in advance > Jeff Cauhape cauhape@TWG.COM 415/962-7147 Room 226 (SneakerNet) -- Alan Denney aland@informix.com {pyramid|uunet}!infmx!aland "Lost in her lips, downtown New York with her lips, I tried to lift my eyes with no success.
