The parameters USERTHREADS and TRANSACTIONS no longer apply
to IDS 7.31. As a matter of fact the database server does
not limit the number of users/connections, except of course
if YOU explicitly set them.

Subject: USERTHREADS / TRANSACTIONS
Hi
We are going to use Patrol for montoring an IDS 7.31 RDBMS on Reliant UNIX
5.44.
Patrol monitors many parameters, two of them are USERTREADS and TRANSACTIONS
which can be seen with onstat -ux. BMC ( company who develops Patrol ) says,
that there's a limit of both of them. In our case it's 128 ( onstat -ux ->
total ). Once we get to this limit, BMC recommands to increase the Informix
Parameter USERTREADS and TRANSACTIONS under onconfig. In case of USERTREADS
limit, we should buy more Informix licenses ( that's what BMC recommand ).
Does anybody know about those parameters / limits? Informix Documentation
doesn't mention them.
Thanks for any advice
