I have a 4GL program that works fine under Unix version 7.20.UD4. It works fine on my development PC with D4GL version 3.00.1g I installed D4GL on the production NT4 machine. When I run the program, it issues an error when it completes: The instruction at "0x1000e688" referenced memory at "0x0000006c". The memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the application The program produces the correct output. I tried re-installing D4GL with no success. Any help is appreciated. - Paul ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This e-mail is sent by a law firm and may contain information that is privileged or confidential. Paul, We typically run into similar problems running D4GL programs under NT. The culprit is usually either an environment setup problem or the moodiness of D4GL under NT. Here is how we usually get around them: 1. To address the moodiness of D4GL under NT (or perhaps it is just the moodiness of NT): find out exactly where (what line in the program) you are getting this message. Use either the D4gl debugger or good old DISPLAY statements. This usually sheds a clue. I have seen cases where perfectly legal UNIX 4GL syntax caused these NT memory messages. In all cases so far, we were able to get around them by slightly changing the code, move stuff around, not necessarily stuff that makes logical sense but it clears the problem up! I saw some form and screen clear statements cause this error before. 2. Environment setup problems: we usually analyze and compare EVERYTHING with another NT PC/user which is running correctly. You would have to compare D4GL as well as NT environment settings, service packs, user setup, etc. etc. If you would care to post your environment settings or send it to me off-line, we'll be happy to take a look at it here and give you some feedback.
