I'm seeing approximately a 15% gain in using KAIO on my current
project. I'm not sure what "adequately configured" has to do with
it...

All three tools (ontape, onbar, onarchive) work fine for me. Using
7.30.FC3X5 on HP-UX 11 (64-bit) on a V2250.
There are some side effects to using KAIO, but, outside of having
shared memory segments locked, they're unpredictable. I would at
least recommend that it be tried out instead of disregarded right out
of the chute. I'm in the lucky minority in that I've never had
problems with KAIO and I've always seen performance gains from
using it.
