Kernel configuration

We have added 128 Mb of Ram to our Sun sparc station running ver 2.6. I want to know that how to best configure Kernel so that online (7.13 UC) can make efficient use of the added memory . Hi, If you have included the recommended lines from the release-notes into your /etc/system-file, kernel configuration should be o.k.. To enable Informix to use the available memory, you have to edit the onconfig- file appropriate. In most cases memory is added, due to severe problems. How to edit the onconfig parameters, depends of the problems you want to solve this way. If you realize that the added memory is not used (vmstat), a good starting point is to increase BUFFERS to increase your cache-rate. hth martin
