Currently I am using Informix HDR on a test
environment. The current informix
Version running on this platform is 9.4uc3 running on Linux Advanced server
3.0. I am being faced with a problem, which isn't constant. The prob is as
follows:
Fst Prob.) I have a pair of informix environments replicating each other. When
I am shutting down the primary server with onmode -ky, and changing the mode
of the secondary server (to simulate a changing process) with onmode -d
standard, the secondary server halts into a checkpoint required and never
comes up into standard mode. While I had other instances, were the secondary
server changed into standard mode without any probs.!
Sec. prob) When trying to change the secondary server to standard server mode,
while the primary is still online, it reports to view the log file and never
changes to standard mode!
Is there any sequence that I have to follow when changing the secondary to
standard, should I wait for the onstat -m to report that the Primary server
connection have been lost and afterwards change to standard mode?
Thanks for your help
Robert
Can you give us the stack of onmode_monitor thread
when server is hanging during state change (off-secondary to standard). onstat
-g dri output will also be useful.
When DR is on, you can not switch secondary server to standard mode. To bring
the server to standard mode, you need to switch off the DR first. To do this
make primary standard first and then make secondary as standard.
