LSM is not used
It is a Compaq HSG80 cabinet with 18, 36 or 72GB disk in RAID 0+1 in
combination with a Compaq ES40.
Told was that there would be only a minor difference between Advfs and RAW
solution for our datbase, so we choose Advfs
Since we came from a DS20E dual processor with RAW devices on the same
cabinet (checkpoints 0-1 seconds), now we see checkpoints up to 10 seconds
with the ES40 quad processor with Advfs.
The onconfig was the same.

Yeah, the FS vendors think their advanced and low overhead FSes are as good as
RAW, but their not. Yes, they are only 20-30% slower than RAW rather than the
25-40% slower than RAW for a normal UNIX filesystem, but they are still
slower.
