ODBC / Windows 2000 problem: "Cannot locate turbo service"

I'm trying to use ODBC on windows 2000 pro to access an Informix online database. Apparently the odbc installation was successful, but when I try to link an external table to an Access database I always get the following error: "Cannot locate turbo service/tcp service in /etc/services". (SQL error 931). I get the same message with both "Informix 3.30 32 bit" and "Intersolv 3.11 32 bit Informix 9" drivers. Luca Carugati

Hi, Check the services file located in winnt\\system32\\drivers\\etc and see if turbo is listed. If not you want to add the port number that corresponds to it. Imran. Thanks Imran, you were right. We were trying to put the services file in the wrong directory. Now ODBC works, and it's also quite fast.
