SE 7.1 File Open Limit?

Does anyone know what is the maximum number of "files" that can be open from an application at one time using Informix SE version *7.1*? We have been reading the manuals, and talking to Informix, but don't seem to have a clear answer yet: the manuals say that the limit is 64 (unchanged from previous versions) but when we asked whether this limit might have increased as a result of the CISAM limit having increased to 255 (in CISAM 6.0), the confusion started. So, before I break down and get the product and try it myself, does anyone know for sure (one way or the other) whether the limit is still 64? (This matters to us because 64 is not a big number for some of the applications we're involved in.)
