+We're running Informix 7.23 on a Digital Unix 4.0B Cluster. We'll
also
+be running Informix 7.?? on NT 4.0. For reasons of application design
it
+seems as though we may need to synchronise the Archives on these two
+platforms. No problems there. We're using ontape to do the Archives.
+I've neen told that it is not possible to restore an Informix
Database
+to a Point in time using the Logs to roll forward from the last
Archive.
+Is this true?
It is true. Ontape does not support point-in-time recovery.
+If this is not possible with ontape, is it possible with any of the
+other Informix Archive Products?
Onbar supports point-in-time recovery. Bear in mind that prior to
7.3, you needed a 3rd party storage volume manager in addition to
OnBar. With 7.3, Informix provides a SVM. Note that archives created
with ontape cannot be used with Onbar; you will need to create a new
archive using onbar .
