Ontape returns errno 27

hello!
i have problem with ontape. i wanted to make backup to disk and later (with
other software) move this backup from disk to tape. everything was fine
until backup size reached 2 giga. backup destination file system is mounted
with largefiles option. operating system allows files larger than 2 giga. i
created successfully file with size more than 3 giga. but ontape returns
error 27 (file too large). finderr says that this is operating system error.
can anyone say what is the problem here? does informix have file size limits
even if operating system supports larger files?
i have informix 7.31 UC4-1 and operating system is solaris 2.6
sorry if my english wasn't correct...

See if your TAPEDEV param is larger than 2 GB.

you meant TAPESIZE parameter? yes, it set to 12 GB. as far as i know if backup size exceeds TAPESIZE informix should ask for next volume... kaido > > See if your TAPEDEV param is larger than 2 GB. > > -- > ------------------------------------------------- > With best regards, Yuri Dovgart > SAP R/3, Informix technical consultant, > Informix Certified Professional, > Senior System Consultant > System Architecture and High Availability Systems, > 'Telecominvest' company > Email y_dovgart@tci.ukrtel.net > ICQ 39284285 >

It may do, check if there is a 7.31.FC4-1 release.
the FC releases are 64-bit releases.
