Hi. We currently have these products installed on HP-UX 10.20 platform: OnLine Dynamic server 7.23.UC1 ESQL/C 7.22.UC1 I4GL 7.20.UD1 (ID and RDS, too) ISQL 7.20.UD1 I want to upgrade to: IDS 7.31.UC2 I4GL 7.20.UD8 (ID and RDS, too) ISQL 7.20.UD8 and I was told to get CLIENT SDK 2.20.UC2 instead of ESQL/C. From what I gather, CLIENT SDK consists of several client products: INFORMIX-CLI INFORMIX-ESQL/C INFORMIX-GLS INFORMIX-Object Interface for C++ INTERSOLV DataDirect ODBC Driver LIBMI My question: Can I install the ESQL/C product from SDK only, or do I have to install the entire contents of SDK? And do I still install in the same order as I have been? Thanks, Dianne

If the order you had worked, then stick with it. I'd put everything new in a new INFORMIXDIR (along with anything that hasn't changed). I'd then test that installation. Only at the last moment would I switch the production INFORMIXDIR from the old to the new. This just requires enough disk space to create the spare INFORMIXDIR. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
