Detached Indexes in 7.22.UC2

I was wondering if any people out there have experience at using detached indexes (indexes on a dbspace other than the table's dbspace - in case I am using the wrong technology). I recently created a separate index dbspace and put a number of large indexes in there. I did this on two separate instances. I rebooted the system (Solaris 2.6) this morning for the first time since this change, and both databases came up with errors relating to the dbspaces which contain only indexes. I managed to get out test instance back OK, but I am having to do a restore of the production database. I am hoping this is just a coincidence. Could I have done something wrong when I was creating the indexes or are they a bit flaky when created in a separate dbspace. If you have any dealings with this sort of situation please email me. Detatching indexes should be a bog-standard feature of any RDBMS. Informix is no exception. We have a Baan instance with a few large tables which we detatched the indexes into several dbspaces - no problems. What errors were reported ?? What version of OnLine do you have ? How did you create the indexes ? How big are they ?
