Cannot connect to Database via ODBC

Hi, We've got an Informix database on a Unix NCR machine. I am trying to access this database through ODBC and all my efforts have been in vain. I've installed "Informix Client Software Developer's Kit for Microsoft Windows Environments" on my Windows 95 PC. This software is on CD Rom. Its got various options to install - such as ODBC Driver Manager Version 2.5 or 3.0 . Its also got two versions of ODBC drivers - Informix-CLI Version 2.80 or INTERSOLV Version 3.0.1. I even removed the default Microsoft ODBC Driver Manager (Ver 3.0) to install Driver Manager Ver. 2.5 - as instructed in the SDK README document. I've tried all combinations. All failed. I tried to access the database using ILogin. I ran Visual Basic 5.0 and tried to access it from there. Most times the program from where I try the connection hangs. Can anybody please help ?!
