When I try to drop the dbspace, it reports following
...
$ onspaces -d rootdbstestWARNING: Dropping a DBspace/BLOBspace.

WARNING! The dbspace you wish to drop has been
disabled. There
may be database catalog entries for tables or indices
which contain
data in this dbspace. If you complete the drop they
will be unusable.

Cannot drop the DBspace/BLOBspace.
ISAM error: Unexpected internal error
When I try to bring it online it reports following ...
$ onspaces -s rootdbstest -p
/u/IFMXDATA/AKU_shm/rootdbstest_dat.000 -o 0 -OWarning: Bringing chunk back online.
Do you really want to continue? (y/n)y
Verifying physical disk space, please wait ...
Cannot change chunk status.
ISAM error: Primary and Mirror chunks are bad
And the 'online.log' has following entries ...

I looks like the reason the dbspace is marked down is that the chunk is no
longer a viable file/device and cannot be read/written. If that is the
case you will not be able to drop it. On UNIX you would relink the file
to a new one and restore from an archive then you would be able to drop it.
On NT you cannot do that so... call tech support they can dial in and MAY
be able to drop it if there are not too many objects dependent on its
existence. Can you fix/replace the file/device so you can restore it?
