As an alternative to johnl's solution you can: 1. if running a telnet session on a PC that runs the 4GL session, just open the Windows clock in the startup box - this will display the current time, but outside of the 4gl program. 2. if using an Xterm or PC-xterm package, just run xclock - this will show the current time on the screen, but outside of the 4gl program. 3. if still using terminals, some of them also have a clock on the top line that can be turned on in the configuration (ie. wyse60 has this feature if I remember correctly). All of these solutions are outside of the 4gl program, but may still give you what you want. Paul R. (pjredman@compuserve.com)
