Can someone tell me what's the difference between Concurrent Users and User Logins? If I have a 50 Concurrent User License does that mean I am entitled to have a maximum of 50 User Logins only? Thanks. -- Posted via Talkway - http://www.talkway.com Exchange ideas on practically anything (tm).

No, you can have as much logged users as you want - there is no mechanism in Informix, that performs users - to - license checking. But, of course, this is on your honest. -- With best regards, Yuri Dovgart, SAP R/3, Informix consultant, "Telecominvest" company. A person using n application the same time are n c-users. A process created by the machine itself a user. Each connection to a multiplexer, e.g. a transaction monitor, is a c-user. You have to count the number of real connection, not the reduced ones. Wolfgang

If you mean User Logins to the Informix engine, yes that is what is meant by concurrent users. In the context of licensing these two terms are the same. In the context of system load concurrent users means actively querying users rather than logged in users. Art S. Kagel
