Benchmarks

Hi, I would like to see what performance I would get in upgrading from Online to IDS 9.2 by running both Online and IDS on the same exact hardware configuration with the same apps. The questions is 'What tools will give me what performance metrics ?' so that I can compare Online's metrics and IDS's metrics. I guess these tools must exist within Informix... I am clueless and so any hint/tip is all helpful. Thanks, Thanh Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

The best and only valid benchmark is your own data and applications or a significant and measurable sample of same. Get an evaluation copy of 9.21 and load up your data. If you are using SDK 2.30 or later you won't even have to recompile, just switch INFORMIXSERVER to the new engine and test. You can do hard timings as subjective response time testing using your own apps. Art S. Kagel
