Hi, oralce has chr() function, informix has no this function. in oralce chr(65) return 'A', char(66) return 'B' do anybody know how to write this function in informix ? thanks.
Hello, There is a small collection of SQL scripts that can implement the CHR() function... They were made by Jonathan Leffler and are available at: http://www.iiug.org/software/index_all.html But take note that what it does is to load an ASCII table into a database table and then creates the CHR() as a select from this table. I'm not sure if CHR() is codeset sensitive... If you want a specific codeset you can create your own table, or eventually include one more field that specifies the codeset, so that you could support several codesets...
