Reading DBEXPORT Tape

I've got a DBEXPORT tape and would like to read the files on it. Is there any way to do this? (besides DBIMPORT, that is). BTW, I've got a TAR of the .UNL files but need to snapshot the DB fairly frequently and would like to avoid creating the export and then creating the TAR. Thanks, Bob Moore rsmoore@airnet.net

I suppose that you can cat tape to something. Format is the same as of normal
dbexport in filesystem except that each table definition is followed by the data
itself (i.e. whole schema is spread over complete tape). To see the format do
dbexportto file instead of to tape (give filename instead of tape device name) and you
can
study the formats.
