Dear sir
We tried to find the solutions about no response of Informix server 7.31 TC2
for a long time! Our server now is NT4 server,sp4 with dual P-III550 CPU,
512MB RAM, five 9GB hard disks with raid card, we tried to simulate the same
situation and got some idea.
Sometimes, when some one issue a heavy transaction , it will lock
all Informix server connections include Informix server itself(e.g
onmode, ontape , cdr list server, dbaccess and logical log stop
backup, but the transaction still work!) , the only way it reboot
the nt server, why? our server had been ran smoothly more than
one year, until last week ,we issue more tables to do the
replicates(we have 200 replicates through our local LAN)
We do need some one to help, we ask for help to our local Informix
consultant but they told us they do not have this version of Informix server
(it's really strange, this version was bought from them) wish we can make a
copy and let them try to find the problem, but we do not have the time , our
mis system have to work everyday!! before yesterday, we wish a new powerful
server can resolve this problem , but we failed, I do not sleep until now to
find the solution!
Thanks!
Spec.
NT4 Server, Sp4, Informix 7.31 TC2, Data replication about 200
replicates!
Paul,
The first thing you may want to do is move the NT server
to SP 5.. I also had troubles until this was done....

Paul,
I'm assuming that ER is somehow involved in this problem. Have you opened a
case with tech support? If so, do you have the case number? I can't tell what
is going on from your description here in the news group, but there might be
some information in the case to aid in the diagnosis of the problem.
Thanks
