Testing the ontape utility?

I'm trying to find out if the Ontape is working properly, in development,
using the following scenario:
- create a dbspace,
- create a database,
- add 4 tables with data
- perform an archive with the ontape utility,
- delete drop 2 tables from the database,
- restore the dropped tables and
- check if the dropped tables are restored.
any idea if this scenario works or if some thing wrong with it.
Thanks for any help.
Better yet, create a small program to write binary zeros throughout a
file and point it at each chunk of the server after taking the archive
then restore. In between the archive and deliberate destruction you
might try running archecker, Informix's archive verification utility.
